Supervises: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:

This position is responsible for assisting the Fields Manager with the overall care and preparation of all playing surfaces and landscaped areas for the Green Bay Packers organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Performs various duties to assist the Fields Manager in maintaining fields such as, but not limited to: fertility applications, mowing, aeration, surface management, seeding, water management, weed, disease, and insect control. 

  2. Performs all necessary actions to mark fields with appropriate stencils and dimensional lines for all events.

  3. Directs and supervises seasonal and part time employees.

  4. Covering and uncovering fields with tarpaulin and managing it while in use.

  5. Removal of snow from fields and various hardscape locations.

  6. Equipment maintenance and repair.

  7. Assists Fields Manager with all game day responsibilities.

  8. Performing horticulture maintenance of trees, shrubbery, perennials, and turf areas surrounding the stadium, including but not limited to trimming, fertilizing, mulching, and replanting.

  9. Other duties as delegated by the Fields Manager.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in sports turf management, horticulture, agriculture, or related field.

  2. Three years of experience in sports turf maintenance preferred.

  3. A qualified candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of turf grass science management, computerized irrigation systems, painting techniques, and be well adept at operating and maintaining the industry standard equipment.

  4. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work both individually and as a close knit team.

  5. Must be able to work extended and non-traditional hours, including second and third shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  6. Must be able to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicators License within a 12 month probationary period.

  7. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to reach, bend, climb, and lift on a frequent basis.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.

  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.

  • Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.

  • Operates in a professional environment.

  • Role routinely uses equipment and machinery.

Travel: No regular travel is expected for this position.
