Summary: USA Football’s National Teams is currently looking to hire a full time, Community Marketing & Relations intern. This position will be responsible for creating awareness, community engagement, and driving attendance to the 2016 International Bowl, played at AT&T Stadium—home of the Dallas Cowboys. Held every January/February, the International Bowl is the longest annual international football competition. The International Bowl series features the top high school athletes in the U.S., forming the U.S. National Team, as they compete against the Canadian National Team. The hired candidate will be responsible for identifying new strategic partners within the greater Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. The aim is to create awareness in the DFW area surrounding the International Bowl. The candidate will also be responsible for managing and growing pre-existing relationships, with a focus on driving attendance to the event.     

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and prospecting various community groups and key influencers in the DFW area; communicating directly and partnering with them
  • Leveraging the International Bowl/AT&T Stadium as an asset to develop programming
  • Grow pre-existing community-based relationships and programs established in years’ past
  • Identify strategic marketing partnerships and promotional opportunities within the region
  • Assist in the planning and operational execution of live events
  • Supervise stadium box office operations on-site at AT&T Stadium
  • Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor

Education: Recent graduate (within past 6 months) or current college student 

Preferred Skills:

  • Desire to work in the sports/events industry
  • Ability to represent USA Football, the U.S. National Team, and the International Bowl in a professional, articulate manner in person, over the phone, and in written communications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Research and prospecting skills a plus
  • Organizational skills, including ability to handle a high volume of detail-oriented work
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and a driven work ethic


  • Internship begins September 5, 2017 and ends February 2, 2018
  • Internship is full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Interns receive a $775 monthly stipend 
  • Reports to Manager, National Teams
  • Position will be located at USA Football’s Cranbury, NJ office
  • Candidates must be available to commit to traveling for a minimum 3 weeks in January to Arlington, Texas to work the International Bowl on-site
  • Must secure housing and transportation  
  • USA Football supports interns seeking academic credit
  • Interns must identify learning goals and work with supervisor to achieve goals
    • Examine the organization and its industry/environment
    • Analyze and interpret functions and responsibilities
    • Observe professionals in various roles and participate with them where appropriate
    • Apply academic learning to practical and professional work experiences
    • Learn how to perform specific tasks
